Harris Regional Hospital - Emergency Department Addition

With an outdated and undersized Emergency Department, the residents of Sylva were in desperate need of a new and appropriately sized ED for their current and future needs. There were many attempts over the years to secure funding for a new ED, and that effort finally came to fruition in 2017. HMK Architects designed a new 15 bed department with four secure holding rooms. The facility is now able to deliver state of the art medical care to a greater number of people in a space that serves as a benefit to the entire community.
