Oakhill Baptist Church, North and South Campus

Oakhill Baptist Church has been making much of Jesus in the Evansville, Indiana community of Oak Hill for six decades. As the community around it grew alongside the church, the church realized that it was landlocked on its current site. A VisionCAST consultation with the non-profit Cornerstone Collaborative helped the church confirm that purchasing an existing church building just north of their current location would allow them to better reach their community and engaged HMK Architects to partner with them to see it through.

The project includes maximizing the facilities at the current South campus through fresh youth and children’s spaces, along with creating opportunities to transfer ministry to the acquired North Campus. This renovated building and addition will include worship, fellowship, recreation, and small group spaces that increase flexibility, and accessibility, and allows room to grow. To complement the bold mid-century existing design, a new tower element helps the church to convey a fresh new identity at this North Campus, which positions Oakhill to grow within the Evansville community for many decades to come.
