This project features a two-story, 26,000 SF addition to the historic Jones Paideia School in North Nashville. The school is a great source of community pride, and when it was threatened with closure due to age and lack of space, parents and neighbors rallied to save Jones Paideia. The existing 1935 building was completely renovated with modern building systems, while preserving existing terrazzo and hardwood floors. The addition enclosed a new courtyard space that was planned for the original 1935 building, and completed the originally designed corridor circulation in the building. The addition was carefully planned within a limited footprint and was placed at the rear of the building in order to preserve the original historic front façade.
