UNC Health Johnston- Clayton

The sole hospital in the fast growing community of Clayton, North Carolina, and exurb of Raleigh, is navigating serving an evolving population. HMK Architects partnered with UNC Health Johntson-Clayton to design a new 2-story medical office building on site adjacent to the hospital.  Designed to integrate into the existing material palate of the hospital campus, this modern facility is home to an ambulatory surgery center for endoscopy on the first floor along with an office space for a gastroenterologist practice. The second floor, currently in design, with house a multispecialty clinic for physician practices to maintain quality care close to home for the residents of Clayton. Carefully oriented sun shading on the southwestern portion of the building reduces afternoon glare in sensitive patient care areas and complements the mission to enhance well-being for the community.
