At HMKA we work hard as a team, but we also manage to find time for fun. Since we started the firm in 1999, we’ve had annual Christmas parties and summer gatherings; we’ve celebrated birthdays, babies and weddings; we’ve hosted Tailgate lunches and Tacky Sweater lunches . . . and that doesn’t even include the cake breaks. We’ve filled out our NCAA brackets each March, made our gameday score predictions, challenged each other to ping-pong and cornhole, added to our office collection of Nerf weaponry, and made the most of our interoffice SEC football rivalries. For the past several years we’ve also fielded a team of gingerbread designers for the annual Gingertown charity event. Each quarter we schedule a “Fun Friday” where the staff chooses a place to go out for lunch, and a venue for an afternoon event. Recent outings have included indoor go-karts, a visit to the Cheekwood Playhouses, and an excursion to Opryland ICE!
