The Medical Center of Peach County, a 25-bed critical access hospital, was completed in the Summer of 2013 to serve the area south of Macon, GA . The new facility, owned by the Medical Center of Central Georgia, replaced an aging, outdated hospital that had previously served the area. The new medical center includes 25 inpatient beds, fourteen emergency treatment positions, a new CT and digital radiology. The Surgery department accommodates an orthopedic operating room and two procedure rooms with associated staging, recovery, and PACU beds. The new hospital also provides ancillary services such as laboratory, pharmacy, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy. The contemporary design of the new facility creates an architectural focal point for the community.
